Esophageal atresia with tracheoesophageal fistula is due to an error in ontogenetic development which occurs befose the sixth week of gestation. A clinical statistical observation was made on 177 cases: of premature infants and 92 cases of
low birth weight infants during January I, 1968 to July, 1973.
The results wereas follows;
1. Incidence of prematurity was 4.1% and low birth weight infants was 2.1%.
